Ask the speaker

Another function in the Features section is the Ask-the-Speaker function. With this application, all participants can ask questions to a speaker at your event. This function is designed to make your event more interactive. Especially for participants who are otherwise reluctant to ask questions, the Ask-the-Speaker function offers a pleasant opportunity to get involved and ask their questions. Participants have the choice of asking a question to a speaker anonymously or under their own name.

Add new speaker

In the Features section you will find the sub-item „Questions to the Speaker“. In this area you can add new speakers. Add the title of the presentation, optionally add a short description and define a start and end time for the presentation. In the area „Speaker“ you have the possibility to add a speaker manually. Upload a picture and give short information about the person. If a speaker is already listed in the participant list of your event, you can link the profile by entering the name or email address. In the „Show to participants“ section you can make the entry visible or invisible to participants.

Send questions as messages

In the backend the organizer can set whether he wants to activate the function „Questions to the speaker“ for participants. He can also decide whether the questions should also be sent as a message to the speaker. The latter is possible if the speaker is also registered as participant at congreet. To do so, link the speaker’s participant profile by selecting the speaker from the participants (button: Select participant). Questions (not anonymized) will then be sent directly to the speaker’s inbox. A conversation is opened with the participant who asked the question. In this way, questions can be answered directly in the dialog.

Present questions in a moderated manner

„Ask the Speaker“ is a moderated way of passing on questions. After you have saved a new entry, two new options will be available. You can manage questions and present questions. The option „Manage questions“ is a separate backend where you can manage incoming questions. In this overview you will find all questions asked by participants. Here you have the option to reject or confirm a question. If the question is rejected, you can send the questioner a reason.

If you confirm the question, it will become visible as follows. Via a second page, which you can also reach in the overview of speakers under „Present questions“. This means that you can confirm all questions that you want to pass on to the speaker. The presentation page can then be projected onto a screen or made available to the speaker in some form. If the speaker – or you in the manage questions backend – marks the question as answered, it disappears from the presentation screen or is archived in the backend.

The question backend, as well as the presentation page is accessible without the organizer login. This means that you can hand over the moderation of the questions to someone else without having to pass on the access data or release the entire event management.
